During his two-day (February 12-13) visit, PM Modi stated that he is determined to "Make India Great Again" (MIGA), a play on U.S. President Donald Trump's slogan "Make America Great Again" (MAGA).

Saab, a leading Swedish defense and security company, has signed an agreement with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) for an Electronic Warfare and Laser Warning System-310 (LWS-310).

The MoU provides for a "Maintenance Transfer of Technology," aligning with the Indian Defence Procurement Procedure. This includes setting up the necessary infrastructure, conducting training programs, and transferring technical expertise from Saab to HAL to ensure long-term support for the system.

State-run HAL is based in Bengaluru. The LWS-310 enables a combat management system to employ effective countermeasures against laser threats, enhancing the self-protection capabilities of combat vehicles.
On February 13, 2025, the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSGMBY) will mark its first anniversary. Launched by PM Modi on February 13, 2024, this groundbreaking initiative aims to provide free electricity to households by facilitating the installation of rooftop solar panels.

PMSGMBY is the world's largest domestic rooftop solar initiative, with a bold vision to supply solar power to one crore households by March 2027. The scheme offers a subsidy of up to 40%, making renewable energy more affordable and accessible.

Currently, an estimated 45% of beneficiaries receive zero electricity bills, depending on their solar power generation and consumption patterns.

The top five states with the highest number of households benefiting from the scheme are - Gujarat, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, and Rajasthan.
India is hosting the annual Conference of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS) for the first time. The IIAS-DARPG India Conference 2025 is being held in New Delhi from February 10-14, 2025.

This global event provides a platform for experts from over 55 countries to discuss innovations in public administration, governance, and policymaking. The conference also includes the annual General Assembly meeting of IIAS.

The theme for this year's conference is "Next Generation Administrative Reforms – Empowering Citizens and Reaching the Last Mile."
