India signed the Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA) with the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) on March 10, 2024. EFTA includes Switzerland, Iceland, Norway, and Liechtenstein.

This agreement is historic as it includes a binding commitment of $100 billion in investments and the creation of 1 million direct jobs over the next 15 years. TEPA will boost the Make in India initiative and provide new opportunities for India's young and skilled workforce.

It will also open European and global markets for Indian exporters. The agreement covers market access for goods and services, investment promotion, trade facilitation, intellectual property rights, and sustainable development.

Among EFTA countries, Switzerland is India’s largest trading partner, followed by Norway.
