In October 2024, the Indian Navy received its latest large survey vessel, Nirdeshak (Yard 3026), designed for deep-water hydrographic mapping. This is the second of four Survey Vessel (Large) ships being built at Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE) in Kolkata. The first ship of the class, INS Sandhayak, was commissioned on February 3, 2024.
