The Ministry of External Affairs and BIMSTEC have signed an agreement to establish the BIMSTEC Energy Centre in Karnataka's Bengaluru. BIMSTEC is an international organization of seven countries (Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Thailand.) in South and Southeast Asia that was established in 1997.
