Earth will have a temporary "mini-moon" when asteroid 2024 PT5 orbits from September 29 to November 25, 2024. The 33-foot-wide asteroid won't be visible to the naked eye but can be observed with professional telescopes. It will return to Earth's orbit in 2055. It was discovered by NASA's Asteroid Terrestrial-Impact Last Alert System (ATLAS) on August 7, 2024.
The Ministry of Tourism announced the winners of the 2nd edition of the Best Tourism Villages Competition 2024 on World Tourism Day (September 27, 2024). Pura Mahadev village in Baghpat district, Uttar Pradesh, won in the Heritage category.
