A partnership between India, Denmark, and IIT-BHU has established the Smart Laboratory on Clean Rivers (SLCR) in Varanasi to rejuvenate the Varuna River.
India and Denmark's Environmental Strategic Partnership has started the Smart Laboratory on Clean Rivers (SLCR) project to help revive the Varuna River. The project has received initial funding of Rs 16.8 crore from India's Jal Shakti Ministry, with an additional Rs 5 crore contributed by Denmark. The Varuna River is a minor tributary of the Ganges River in Uttar Pradesh, India.
