The World Health Organization (WHO) has secured $1 billion in pledges for its next budget, spanning 2025-28. Nearly $700 million of this was made in terms of new funding commitments from various European countries, foundations, and organisations. Meanwhile, $300 million was made up from reaffirmed (earlier commitments) funding commitments.
The United States has announced it will send the advanced THAAD missile defense system to Israel. THAAD (Terminal High-Altitude Area Defense) is a high-tech anti-missile system developed by Lockheed Martin. It is designed to intercept and destroy enemy missiles in their final phase of flight.

NASA's Europa Clipper spacecraft is on a mission to explore Europa, one of Jupiter's moons believed to have a vast subsurface ocean beneath its icy surface. The mission was launched on October 14, 2024, aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket. The spacecraft will travel 2.9 billion kilometers and is expected to reach Jupiter in April 2030.

Europa Clipper's main science goal is to determine whether there are places below the surface of Jupiter's icy moon, Europa, that could support life.
The Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) is all set to host the second edition of India's premier annual gaming conference, the Indian Gaming Convention (IGC). Themed "India-the Next Superpower in Gaming," IGC 2024 is scheduled for October 14 and 15, 2024, at Taj Palace, New Delhi.

State-owned BEML (Bharat Earth Movers Limited) has been awarded a ₹867 crore contract by the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai to design, manufacture, and commission two high-speed train sets. This will be the first time such work is done indigenously in India. The train sets will be produced at BEML's Bengaluru rail coach complex and are expected to be delivered by the end of 2026.
