The European Commission (EC) has removed Tanzania from the list of countries eligible for its 18 million Euro conservation grant to be launched in East Africa as part of its NaturAfrica initiative. The NaturAfrica program, funded by the EC, aims to conserve biodiversity and promote sustainable development in key African landscapes.
The European Commission is part of the executive of the European Union. It operates as a cabinet government, with 27 members of the Commission headed by a President. It includes an administrative body of about 32,000 European civil servants.
