India and Vietnam are jointly developing the National Maritime Heritage Complex in Lothal, Gujarat, to celebrate their maritime history.

The India International Hospitality Expo (IHE) 2024 is set to take place in August 2024 at India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida, Delhi NCR.

India will host its first multinational air exercise called Tarang Shakti-2024 in August 2024, with the participation of 10 countries and some others as observers. It is inspired by the Red Flag exercise hosted by the US.

It was conducted at Sular in Tamil Nadu and Jodhpur in Rajasthan. During this exercise, Squadron Leader Mohana Singh became the first woman fighter pilot to fly India's indigenous fighter aircraft, the LCA Tejas.

In a landmark judgement, a seven-judge Bench of the Supreme Court in August 2024, reframed how the SC and ST quota may operate — for the very first time since reservations were introduced in the Constitution in 1950. The Bench permitted states to create sub-classifications within the SC and ST categories for the purpose of according wider protections — through fixed sub-quotas — to the most backward communities within these categories.
